TMB 100
100

Years of service: 1926 to 1979. Units: 12.

These cars were the largest in the world for 35 years and undoubtedly, they are the most impressive metro units that have circulated in Spain to date, both in size and capacity.

TMB 200A
200 A

Years of service: 1944 to 1991. Units: 4.

They were received by the Transversal Metropolitan throughout 1944. They were withdrawn from circulation in the mid-70s, but due to a lack of material, they returned to circulation until the late 80s.

TMB 200 B
200 B (ex-300)

Years of service: 1953 to 1991. Units: 20.

This series innovatively incorporated fluorescent lighting. They were painted cream on the sides and white on the roof and had seats made of wooden slats.

TMB 300 B
300 B

Years of service: 1949 to 1987. Units: 10.

The curious feature of this series is that, due to the post-war scarcity, they were built without exterior cladding, just like the type S cars. The lighting was originally provided by incandescent bulbs.

TMB 300 C
300 C

Years of service: 1962 to 1970. Units: 42.

This series was built by Macosa and mainly served on line 3.

TMB 300 R
300 R

Years of service: 1924 to 1988. Units: 20.

This was the first series of rolling stock that GMB had, and it circulated alone until the early 40s. It was decorated with a light gray color on the sides and white on the roof, and it had 24 fixed seats plus 14 folding ones.

300 S

Years of service: 1944 to 1987. Units: 76 cars.

These were trains initially intended for the Madrid Metro. Due to post-war difficulties, this series had no exterior cladding and was of the Madrid Metro gauge, much narrower than that of Barcelona. This is where the name S, which means "Salamanca line," comes from. This also explains the need for large footboards at the doors.

TMB 400
400

Years of service: 1958 to 1991. Units: 80 cars (60 motor cars + 20 trailers).

This series was very similar to the 200 B but with much more modern technology. This was the last series before the Transversal Metropolitan was integrated into the current Ferrocarril Metropolità de Barcelona along with the Gran Metro.

TMB 500
500

Years of service: since 2003. Units: 6.

The series 500 trains consist only of three units, each composed of two cars, numbered 501-502-503-504-505 and 506. The trains are short due to the short distance between stations on line 11.

TMB 600
600

Years of service: 1959 to 1982. Units: 12 cars.

These trains were very similar to the series 400, especially in their interior, and were acquired to serve line 2 between Sagrera and Horta. Interestingly, they featured a primitive and pioneering automatic train operation system (ATO) which was discontinued in 1970.

TMB 1000
1000

Years of service: 1970 to 2007. Units: 125 cars (50 units of two cars + 25 trailers).

The design of these units is based on that used in other German products of the time, such as the DB series 624. Throughout their active life, they exclusively served line 5.

TMB 1100
1100

Years of service: 1974 to 2008. Units: 135 cars (54 units of two cars + 27 trailers).

This series was very similar to the 1000 series, differing mainly in the trailers and small technical variations. While the 1000 series entirely served line 5, the 1100 series served line 4, except for two units on line 5.

TMB 2000
2000

Years of service: since 1992. Units: 8 units of 5 cars (40 cars).

The first units entered service on line 3, forming trains with cars from the 3000 series, to reinforce its service during the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. They were the first units in Barcelona to incorporate inter-car passageways.

TMB 2100
2100

Years of service: since 1995. Units: 15 units of 5 cars (75 cars).

The series 2100 trains were manufactured to meet the increased demand on line 2 after the Sagrada Família-La Pau extension and later, with the annexation of the line 4 section from La Pau to Pep Ventura. The aesthetics are practically the same as those of the series 2000 trains.

TMB 3000
3000

Years of service: 1986 to 2024. Units: 18 units of 5 cars (90 cars).

These 24 trains have a track gauge of 1,674 mm and are powered by 1,500 V DC. The interior and exterior designs are identical to those of the 3000 series trains but adapted to their larger dimensions.

TMB 5000

Serie 7000 Metro de Barcelona TMB
7000

Years of service: since 2023. Units: 26 units of 5 cars (130 cars).

Trains manufactured by Alstom between 2022 and 2023. Their purpose was to replace the 2000 and 3000 on line 5 because these contain asbestos.
